2016 came and you were ready for a change. You were tired of comparing your life to others. You were fed up working at a job that doesn’t fulfill you. You were tired of feeling like your life wasn't going anywhere. You felt like something was missing and you finally decided to do something about it.

You took action and started making positive changes in your life.

You’re reading more books, working out, you even set a few goals this year.

You were so excited to finally start working on you, but you’re not seeing immediate changes so you've been feeling like giving up and returning back to your old ways.

Aren’t you tired of quitting every time something doesn’t happen as fast as you think it should?  Don't you finally want to cross goals off your ever growing to-do list?

I want to encourage you to stop giving up all the time, make a commitment to yourself that you’re going to finally stick to something and give it your all.

I’ve shared with you before that I started my journey back in 2012 and it hasn’t been easy. There are days when I feel like quitting but then I remind myself that I’m walking in my purpose. There are people in the world waiting for me to show up and I can’t let them down.

When you know your purpose in life, you can’t give up. You keep pushing forward because you understand that you have a job to do.

I shared in my newsletter this week that just because things aren't happening as quickly as you would like, doesn’t mean you’re suppose to quit.

The journey to being free and creating the life you want is endless. What I mean by that is, you’re always going to be working on some area of your life. Accept it. Embrace it. Keep it moving.

When you feel like quitting, I want you to remember these 5 things:

Always go back to your why

Think about why did you decide to change your life in the first place. Were you tired of feeling stuck? Did you feel like something was missing from your life? Were you frustrated with never reaching your goals? Were you consumed by negative thoughts?

No matter what it was, you decided that you needed to make changes in your life for a reason and you were discontent with the direction your life was going in.

Take some time and create a “my why” statement. This is simply you writing out why you want to be free and what it’ll mean to you once you start seeing positive changes in your life.

When you have moments when you feel like giving up alway remember why you got started in the first place. Let your why be your motivation to keep going when you feel like giving up. It's also important for you to write your why down and make it visible so you can refer to it often.

To make is easy I created a free worksheet for you to complete. Be sure to post it and tag me on Twitter or Instagram @befreeproject so I can check it out. There’s power when you begin to put things out in the universe and then see it manifest in your life.

Changing your life is not a race

What are you in a rush for and who are you racing against? No one is judging to see how fast you can move through life so stop putting unnecessary pressure on yourself.

Only person you need to worry about is Y.O.U. This is your life, pace yourself and know that change takes time. Life is not a race, it's a journey.

I encourage my clients to go at their own pace and don't compare themselves to what others' are doing. There's no medal or trophy to see who can make progress the fastest so just do you.

All I ask is that you give each day your very best, and only you can determine what your best is. Take each day one step at a time and as I always say embrace your journey.

Speak life over yourself

Be kind to yourself and affirm the woman you want to become. You have a tendency of being too hard on yourself. Your words mean something. Your thoughts become things. You want to say words that will encourage, uplift, edify and motivate you to be better.

Your words have power. We all know the saying if you can’t say anything nice then don’t say it all. That includes what you say to yourself when no one else is around. Speak positive and be mindful of what you say about yourself to yourself.

Plug this affirmation in your phone and recite it daily, today I choose happiness, abundance and success in my life.

No one said changing your life was suppose to be easy:

When has trying anything new ever been easy? It's not suppose to be. You have a lot of learning and growing to do. Pursuing your dreams and creating the life you want on your own terms is more than likely a new concept to you. Accept that there is a process that you have to go through and know that it won't be easy.

You will be pushed out of your comfort zone. You will be challenged. You will learn a lot about yourself and this is all a good thing.

Let go of the idea that everything is suppose to be easy and stop comparing your beginning to someone’s else’s middle. You don’t know what it took for them to get where they’re at.

No matter what just keep going, you got this. :)

Quitting is an easy way out

If you give up on your goals, then what? You go back to feeling frustrated, discontent, hopeless and overwhelmed with life.

If you give up now you’ll return to living the same old average life that you were trying to get away from.  You’ll go back to watching everyone else live the life you desire to live. Is that what you want? I’ll answer for you.. No.

You want to be free. You want to live a life that feels good inside and out. You want to be excited about the life you’re creating for yourself. You want to feel like your life has meaning. You want to walk in your purpose. You want to finally complete something. You want to make yourself proud.

Well you can’t experience any of that if you quit every time life gets tough. You’re at a point in your life where you can’t afford to keep quitting when something doesn't go right. Let go of the idea of instant gratification and for once in your life make a promise to yourself that you'll hang in there no matter what.
