Name: Stacey Ferguson

When did you launch your business/blog?

I was inspired to pursue my dream of being an entrepreneur in 2008 when I had my third child. I was working full-time as an attorney and juggling three small children - I knew that I wanted to own my time and be my own boss.

How does your business line up with your purpose in life?

My business lines up with my life's purpose by allowing me to support women in finding happiness and living richly by turning their gifts and passions into viable brands. I want everyone to celebrate every day. That's why my blog is called 'Life IS the Party!'

What do you enjoy most about living life on your own terms?

Living on my own terms means that I can design my own schedule, have time for my family, and work on projects that move me. God willing, I will always be this fortunate!

Describe an a-ha moment.

An a-ha moment was when I realized that I was slacking at my day job. It's not in my nature to give less than my all, but because my heart was so far removed from my work, I was not putting my best foot forward. It was then that I knew I had to make the leap.

What has been your biggest challenge as a blogger or business owner?

My biggest challenge as a business owner has been to come up with ways to generate a steady and dependable income. Up until last year, my income was dependent on sponsorships and brand campaigns and conference ticket sales - too uncertain and unreliable! I've had to figure out a business model that allowed for regular revenues.

What keeps you motivated on days when you feel overwhelmed?

On days when I feel overwhelmed, my husband is usually a great motivator! Also knowing that I have a team and community that relies on me. In addition, I also remember how blessed I am to have the "job" that I do - and...reminding myself that it's not brain surgery ;)

What’s one thing that you makes you stand out from your peers?

My giving spirit, fun-loving personality and relentless drive sets me apart from my peers. Sometimes I even drive myself nuts with my hyper-productivity.

What’s your biggest fear? And how do you overcome your fears?

My biggest fear is that my family experiences a tragedy. I overcome that fear by showing gratitude daily and celebrating the everyday moments.

What’s one lesson that you’ve learned on your journey to being free?

One lesson I've learned on my journey to being free is: "When you're faced with a difficult decision, choose the option that makes you feel free." I don't know where I first heard that but I've  hung onto it ever since. That advice hasn't failed me yet!

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of my kiddos. They are my everything!!

How do you support other women?

I support other women in ALL kinds of ways. Sharing their news, lending a hand where I can, mentoring, supporting their businesses, providing introductions and connections, hosting events and more!

What does being free mean to you?

Being free to me means being able to realize your gifts.

What is your favorite affirmation or quote?

My favorite quote is from my mom: "Don't take yourself too seriously!"

What book would you highly recommend the BeFree Community read?

I highly recommend that the BeFree Community read, Instinct by T.D. Jakes.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out?

The advice I would give to someone just starting out is, to begin with the end in mind. What are your goals? What does success look like to you? Figure out your desired results and work backwards.

Share a fun fact about yourself.

I used to coach figure skating!

What exciting things do you have planned for 2016?

In 2016 I plan to launch a new professional site that will reflect my evolution from blogger to coach, speaker, and influencer. Also, the 8th Annual Blogalicious Weekend Conference, a keynote talk at The EPIC Conference, and my first class of Rockstar Influencer program graduates!
