Name: Nicole Brewer
Business/Blog: I Luv 2 Globe Trot
When did you start your blog/business?
We (my business partner Renee and I) started I Luv 2 Globe Trot 2.5 years ago.
What triggered you to pursue your dreams and begin creating the life you want?
After living abroad for several years teaching English and knowing the impact of living life as a global citizen had me, it was imperative to document these experiences to inspire others to consider expat life and a life of international travel.
What do you enjoy most about living life on your own terms?
I enjoy the true pleasure I take in living my life to the fullest and not by traditional standards of going after the white picket fence, but seeing the world and making memories for a lifetime.
How are you living out your purpose?
I’m living out my purpose by being present in the here and now. Everyday living life abroad as an expat, I learn new things about myself and I share my experiences with others to educate them on how they too can do the same. I blog about my travels, have ventured into travel writing and I'm working on growing the travel brand of I Luv 2 Globe Trot daily.
Describe an a-ha moment.
I was recently featured in a BBC Travel article about my life living abroad in Oman because the contributor had discovered my blog out of the blue. This experience made me realize how big and important it is that I’m living an unconventional life abroad and documenting those experiences.
What does being free mean to you?
Being free means living life on my own terms and learning from my journey of the road less traveled I’m taking.
What has been your biggest challenge pursuing your purpose?
I’d say my biggest challenge is maintaining and dedicating the time fully to grow the brand of I Luv 2 Globe Trot.
What does your ideal day look like?
By day, I’m an English lecturer at the University here in Nizwa, Oman where boys and girls sit on separate sides of the classroom. By night, I write about my travels and contribute to freelance pieces such as those that have recently been published on the Hipmunk travel website.
What’s one thing that you want people to know about you or your business?
I want people to know that we have a big dream with I Luv 2 Globe Trot, from developing our travel app to branching out with a NGO that will work with children in the near future. You’ll be seeing much more from us in the future.
What is your biggest fear? And how do you overcome your fears?
At one point in time, my biggest fear as a business person was failure. However, I’ve learned to embrace and grow from my mistakes and focus on the positive things that I’m doing in order to make it happen.
How do you stay encouraged?
I repeat daily affirmations to remind myself that I am enough and I’m working toward something bigger than me.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the fact that I’m encouraging young ladies to trot the globe and live a life with passion. I’ve gotten messages from ladies thanking me for inspiring them through my journey and that makes me so very happy.
How do you support other women?
We too feature monthly globetrotter interviews on our site, sometimes interviewing women that are also trotting the globe and inspiring others.
What is your favorite affirmation or quote?
“I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move”. -Robert Louis Stevenson
What’s your favorite book?
I’m currently reading Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso and I’m enjoying it immensely. It is giving me inspiration to keep on this journey to chase free.
What exciting things do you have planned for 2015?
We are planning to launch our travel app this year for I Luv 2 Globe Trot. I’ll continue with my travel writing and contributions, as well as focusing on building relationships with brands for possible sponsorship opportunities for I Luv 2 Globe Trot.

The Chasing Free feature is designed to spotlight women who are living in purpose, pursuing her dreams, and creating the life she wants by doing what she’s passionate about.
Monthly, I'll introduce you to women that are unapologetically living life on her own terms. She's a solopreneur, blogger, small business owner, she may even have a side hustle until she’s able to do what she loves full time. She’s doing the darn thing! And she openly shares her journey with the BeFree Community to help inspire others to be free.
If you or someone you know is living out their dreams and want to be featured on the blog, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
