November 11th I threw myself a big party which was totally not something I do on the regular. In fact, I don’t think I’ve had a party for myself since I was a little kid. Sure I’ve had two baby showers and a wedding shower but never a party just for me. So the Sip & Sign Free Your Mind Launch Party was a big deal.
I am still surprised that I was able to pull it off because event planning is not my thing but it turned out great and I am really proud of myself. I was blown away by the amount of people that came out to celebrate and support me for the launch of the Free Your Mind Journal.
Why I decided to host the Sip & Sign Launch Party
I've been so busy this year executing and taking action on reaching my goals that often times I forget to celebrate. It's like I have this ongoing to-do list that I'm so focused on checking things off my list that I don't acknowledge the major goals I've accomplished.
I've been talking about creating my own journal for awhile now and to check this huge goal off my list was pretty major for me. So I said to myself no matter what I am going to press pause on everything and throw myself a party and have fun.
It also was a great way to get the word out about BeFree Project and let people in my community know I am here and the services I offer. I tell people all the time don't put all your energy into building a social media presence and the people in your community don't even know you exist. You never know the growth you'll experience in your business by connecting with people in your own city.
Leading up to the big day I had so many different emotions and thoughts that kept swimming through my mind...
What if no one showed up?
What if I didn't sell any journals?
What if I cried while talking?
What if I run out of cupcakes?
All of the fears that I had didn't really happen. That's the thing... you get so worked up thinking about all the things that could happen and they never really do. I will say that I was nervous when it was time for me to speak, but I pushed past my fears and I had an amazing time with everyone there.
Below are a few things that helped me have a successful event...
VENUE: Back in September I attended a birthday party at CLE Urban Winery for my friend Erica and I fell in love with the venue. It has an eclectic type of feel, lots of space and the wine was amazing. I instantly thought it would be the perfect spot to host my launch party so before leaving, I talked to the owner, Destiny and we secured a date right away to host my event.
RSVP: This was a free event and in order, for me to keep track of who was coming and properly plan I decided to have people RSVP via Eventbrite. I am so glad I did this because I had over 100 people RSVP. I couldn’t believe it!
OUTFIT: I wanted to look super cute at the launch party, I mean this was a celebration, right? Initially, I was going to wear a branded t-shirt with a skirt, however, after going to the mall with my girls, I decided on a totally different look, a blue jumpsuit. I LOVE it and can’t wait to wear it again.
PHOTOGRAPHY: I knew I wanted professional pictures taken at my event to capture the memories. I've worked with Kamron in the past and I absolutely love her work. I was honored that she took time out of her busy schedule to take photos at the launch party. Be sure to check them out below.
Overall I am very pleased with how the event turned out and I am so thankful for every single person that came out to celebrate with me. The Free Your Mind Sip & Sign Launch Party was just the beginning of many great things to come. I shared in my previous post that 2017 is my year to play bigger and I plan to stretch myself even more to reach some really big goals next year.
Thank you so much for your support and taking the time to come back week after week to read my content. You rock! Enjoy the photos below!
